Posts from the Archive - 2015

I have been training since about 2010 but began to take it more seriously in 2015. That is when the understanding of energy balance, flexible dieting and IIFYM was in its infancy and beginning to gain traction. Below are some posts I made in 2015 that you might enjoy from a time before I knew about the importance of web domains LOL - https://michaellinehanfitness.wordpress.com/

  • The beginning of my 2015 Fitness Journey - Read

  • Chocolate Pancakes for Breakfast? Popcorn in the Cinema? Don’t Mind if I Do - Read

  • Flexible Dieting – Why I am done with trying to eat “Clean” all the time - Read

  • Month 1 Progress of Flexible Dieting and 5x5 - Read

  • Metabolic Adaptation - Read

  • Guilt and Binge Eating - Read

I have since changed my views on some areas. For example, I wouldn’t program a 5x5 training plan beyond eight weeks. Also, the metabolic adaptations I thought I was eliciting through a gradual increase in caloric intake could have been due to subliminal increases in non-exercise activity thermogenesis (NEAT).

Either way, these posts make for good reading. I am glad to see that I had the fundamentals right so early on, with an ability to evolve my thinking regarding the more advanced concepts behind implementing those fundamentals. I hope you enjoy reading them.
